From Reality To Film

In 1998,South Korea abolished the strict "film review system" and established afilm classification system.Korean filmmakers finally have a freer and moredemocratic voice right.Movies of sensitive realist themes such as violence,crime andpolitics have the chance to be brought to the big screen to meet the audience.Goodsystem of protection and preparation are made for the excellent performance of SouthKorean films based on real events since then,the Korean films based on true storiesbegan to appear in batches,and triggered a strong upsurge in society.Based on thissituation,this thesis takes the integration of film globalization and the rise of Koreanpost-modern mass culture as the background,and takes the film adaptation after 2001as the research object,which involves the real events after the democratizationprocess in South Korea on 1960s.Taking the film study as a jumping-off point of research,integrating Literary aesthetics,Communication,Journalism,Sociology,Psychology,Philosophy and so on,this paper makes an in-depth analysis of theemergence and dissemination,adaptation strategy,content and theme,narrativecharacteristics and audio-visual style of the Korean films based on real events.This thesis is divided into five chapters:Chapter 1 discusses the emergence anddissemination of Korean films based on real events from the aspects of generatingmotivation,generating condition and communication effect;Chapter 2 analyzes theadaptation strategy of Korean films based on real events tamp the foundation stone ofdrama from three aspects of theme choice,type breakthrough and cognitivesignificance;Chapter 3 mainly discusses the content and theme of Korean films basedon real events from the Sociology and Psychology;Chapter 4 analyzes the narrativecharacteristics of Korean films based on real events from Narratology,Psychologyand Genre films;Chapter 5 discusses the audio-visual style of Korean films based onreal events from the screen modeling,sound elements,audio-visual materials andother aspects.The conclusion briefly discusses the social influence,culturalsignificance and deficiency of the Korean films based on real events,and on thisbasis,it makes a reflection on the same type of Chinese film.
