The Study Of Folk Custom In Shatou Town,Cangwu County,Wuzhou City,the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region

Mazu,also known as the goddess of heaven,queen of heaven,queen of heaven and mother,was born at Meizhou island,Putian City,Fujian Province.Mazu belief is a folk belief of the han nationality centered on the southeast coast of China.For more than one thousand years,Mazu belief has been spread to the whole country and even around the world mainly through seafarers,merchants in Fujian and Guangdong,overseas Chinese and so on.The town of Shatou is the most north village of Cangwu County,Wuzhou City,The Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.There is a Tianhou Temple in the old street(the old Shatou fair)in Shatou Town,and the temple consecrate the mazu statue,the local people is used to call mazu "Tian hou".Shatou old street’s people from generation to generation oral tradition tianhougong was built in the late Ming dynasty and early Qing dynasty,and rebuilt in the first year of jiaqing dynasty(1796).After the historical changes,the tian hou gong became the only temple in shatou old street,and the Tianhou belief has been preserved to this day.The religious activities of the queen of heaven in Shatou old street mainly include daily sacrificial activities,Lantern Festival sacrificial activities,the birthday of the queen of heaven and the festival of the queen of heaven once every three years.In this paper,the Shatou old street beliefs are studied,the paper use of the field research method,literature research,analysis and synthesis method,the research methods such as essay writing on Shatou old street,temple head of main historical vicissitude process,such as folk legends to collect and record days belief folk activities,and sacrifice to form were analyzed.Days after then,this paper researches the group characteristics of belief,the author through field research,Shatou old street’s people ancestral home residents mostly from Guangdong province,The Guangdong province businessman at that time through the Xijiang secondary tributary Dong’an jiang came to the old Shatou fair in business,and then brought Tianhou faith,and be inheritd by its descendants.There are rich cultural connotations of Tianhou festival culture,ethnic cultural identity,the custom of " Pray for flowers",the implication of offering good fortune,and the inheritance of folk art.The cultural function of belief and folk custom in the Tianhou faith has the function of Psychomodulatory function and to maintain function,maintenance and vent function.This article also field survey the pale of the Longxu guangdong town hall the queen of heaven,the queen of heaven palace in Shiqiao town,and combined with in this paper the research object of Shatou old street Tianhou beliefs,the summary of pale days around the propagation characteristics of faith,and to explore the modern significance of tarshish days around the folk faith.
