Research About Lexical Cultural Meaning In The Textbooks Of Teaching Chinese As A Second Language

The lexical cultural meaning is widely found in various ethnic languages,and it is an important part of the study of vocabulary in the Chinese as a second language.The previous vocabulary of TCSL textbooks focuses on the listings of lexical items in the field of linguistics,and this article intends to examine the cultural meaning of vocabulary in TCSL textbooks from the perspective of lexical cultural meaning.The object of this study is the cultural meaning of the vocabulary in TCSL textbooks.The selected sample is Developing Chinese Advanced Comprehensive Course I.The "cultural semantics" in cultural semantics is very different from the "cultural meaning" discussed in this article.The former's object is the relationship between culture and meaning and the two.The latter's object of study is the vocabulary of TCSL textbooks.Based on the research of cultural semantics and the selection of lexical meaning for TCSL textbooks,this paper proposes the “cultural meaning”,which is applicable to TCSL textbooks.In short,it is the sum of conceptual meaning,connotative meaning,and systematic meaning,which are based on cultural contrasts.The reason to choose Developing Chinese Advanced Comprehensive Course I is because it is the most widely used and the most influential in China.Take many outlines and standards into account,the selection and arrangement of words is very practical and scientific,and it is of great research value.In addition,for advanced Chinese learners,their learning needs for vocabulary have moved from a shallow “basic meaning” to a deeper“cultural meaning”.Therefore,considering the above reasons,this paper proposes a new perspective on the study of lexical cultural meaning,selects the theories and methods for the lexical cultural meaning— TCSL textbooks,which are bones and blood of the articles.This article defines the significance of lexical cultural meaning in TCSL textbooks.First of all,the interpretation of lexical cultural meaning in TCSL textbooks different from the previous definition of the meaning of the vocabulary,and the "cultural" in the lexical cultural meaning differs from the "culture" in cultural course,and it is difficult to teach the “cultural”.However,the lexical cultural meaning is of great significance.It has an impact on to the formation of Chinese learners' thinking and the deep learning of vocabulary.It should be simple and clear,when the lexical cultural meaning is interpreted in the teaching materials.The vocabulary in Developing Chinese Advanced Comprehensive Course I has adopted six description methods: descriptive narrative,descriptive,synonymy paraphrase,negative interpret affirmation,morpheme definition and synthesizing.The six methods have their ownstrengths.After analyzing the vocabulary semantics of the TCSL textbooks,it is found that there are some problems in the conceptual meaning,connotation,and systematic meaning of Developing Chinese Advanced Comprehensive Course ?,which can be solved through amendments and supplements.After comparing the Lexical cultural meaning and interpretation types in Developing Chinese Advanced Comprehensive Course I,it is found that there is a corresponding relationship between semantic distribution of lexical culture and interpretation types.Conceptual meanings can be interpreted through all types,while connotative meanings and systematic meanings are interpreted in a descriptive manner.The study of the combination of lexical cultural meaning and TCSL textbooks has important practical significance for the concept of vocabulary for TCSL textbooks.For the compilation of teaching materials,Constructing the concept of Lexical cultural meaning will complete lexical meaning content.For teachers,defining the learning criteria of lexical cultural meaning and choosing the most appropriately lexical cultural meaning will be useful to help learners to grasp the lexical cultural meaning.Through the precise grasp of the lexical cultural meaning,learners will perceive the universal and various Chinese metaphorical consciousness,which behind the lexical cultural meaning,and then they will truly understand the full meaning of Chinese vocabulary.
