Study On The Re-performance Across Time And Space Of Eileen Chang's Novels

Eileen Chang is the most divisive writer at domestic and abroad academic circles,so that we can't give her a definite localization in Contemporary Literature History of China.The existing related researches about her have been continued to this day,which undergo a special process named Rise-Cooling-Climax.Eileen regarded the folk and life as writing stand points and even abandoned the illusion of heroism and romanticism,whose works obtained extensive reception of readers,less quantity but more quality.Review,retrospect even re-performance some classic novels,belonged to Legend period,cost most time and vigor in her late writing years.In fact,most of her novels of later period corresponded to some previous works.In conclusion,Re-performance,across time and space and across the stages of life,is an important phenomenon of literary creation of Eileen Chang,which is the medium and bridge to her artistic world.Only have a comprehensive exploring and test the hypothesis carefully,we can obtain the possibility to understand the writer in a real sense.In order to have a more entire and profound comprehension to the psychological process and inner world of Eileen Chang's twilight years,this paper concentrate on Re-performance across time and space of Eileen Chang's novels to explore and study this literary phenomenon,with two innovative ways of historical materials collection and posthumous work analysis.The paper consists of introduction,text and conclusion three parts,and the specific structure of chapters as follows:The first part is introduction,to start with,the writer expounds the research significance and value with the summary of Zhang Xue research;then teasing and summarizing some study achievements related to this paper,supplemented by stating the merit and demerit about them;last defining the Re-performance and other related concepts in this paper.The second part is the text and divided into four chapters.The first chapter mainly concentrates on Eileen's novels made in later years.In order to put a steppingstone for next exposition,the writer tries to tease four groups texts related to the Re-performance and illustrate correspondent relationships among them.The second chapter discusses the specific ways and characteristics in the Re-performance across time and space from four items,those are story content,text style,value orientation and the difference of art repercussion.The third chapter is stated on the basis of abundant historical materials.The writer mainly discusses the reason of this literary phenomenon with objective factors such as literary criticism,interpersonal communication and creation limits,and subjective factors like classic consciousness,traditional literature and nostalgic psychology.The forth chapter regards life meaning,personal value,curing psychological trauma and the rejection to May 4th literary tradition as some clues to explain the profound meaning of this literary phenomenon.The third part is conclusion.Making a summary of the text and reiterating the influence and value of the research are the writer's purpose.In addition,it is worth to notice the beneficial enlightenment of the Re-performance across Time and Space of Eileen Chang's Novels to now and the infinity room of Zhang Xue research.
