This report presents the process of translating the excerpts of Consumer Behavior Application in Marketing(Second Edition)which was authored by Robert East and other professors of consumer behavior in North Europe.It places emphasis on how the translator did before translation,what difficulties she encountered and how to handle them.The text type of the source text is informative one and the translator adopts proper translation strategies so as to achieve the balance between the original text and the target text.This report consists of four chapters.The first chapter is an introduction to the project,including the author's writing style and significance of this translation report;the second chapter briefly describes the three stages of translation process,including the preparation before translation,such as the theoretical preparation,Peter Newmark's Text Typology and communicative translation,in translation as well as revision after translation;the third chapter analyzes the difficulties in translating and explores how to cope with them by using corresponding translation strategies and techniques;the fourth chapter makes a conclusion of the translation report,including what can be learned by other translators as well as the limitations and problems that cannot be solved currently.In this case,the translator hopes that the translation report can provide some reference for the translators in the related fields.
