Research On The Design Practice Of Lacquer Decoration Character

"I am not a zombie snail" is a story about a small snail who has lost his soul and been controlled by "external forces(parasites in brain)" in spite of obtaining his unexpected beauty.Eventually the snail struggled with “external forces” to find his own souls at the cost of life.Meanwhile,“I am not a zombie snail” in this article also shows a belief and an attitude about the courage of “rebellion and rejection” when confronting with “Invasion of the foreign cultures”,“Bindly worship” and “All-takenism”.Lacquer art,which is an important part of the Chinese culture that is indispensable in the long-standing civilization of China,is gradually exiting the fast-paced lifestyle because of its complicated,cumbersome craftsmanship and the emergence of a large number of new materials.This is undoubtedly a daunting challenge for the inheritance of lacquer art.However,it is also a rare opportunity for its progress.First of all,when something reaches the extreme it reverses,the “slow life” has been proposed in the fast-paced lifestyle,and then the lacquer may be accepted again by virtue of its own characteristics of “tolerance” and “non-toxicity”.Secondly,it is time for the creator to add fresh design power to put forward more open creative ideas and focus on the current life to find out more contemporary creative themes to design more lacquer wares with the era to meet the contemporary peoples' functional needs and spiritual needs.In this context,the case of decorative figures with the storyline theme of “I am not a zombie snail” was presented and tried to be practiced and studied.We try to analyze and summarize the design process and results through the practice and research of this topic,and strive to make the lacquer decoration character design “I am not a zombie snail” fit the aesthetic needs of the masses in the new era as much as possible.At the same time,in this design case,we explore innovative design approaches and methods that are suitable for the creator's own,design the work structure that implies the author's own thoughts,and finally successfully complete the work.
