A Study On The Relationship Between Cognitive Style And Reader's Preference Of The Structure Of Article's Typesetting

In today's society,articles published on the social media have become an important source of people's reading.Besides,due to the development of science and technology,the author can not only edit and review the ideas of the article,but also make diversified designs for typesetting of articles.The design of article's typesetting can not only make the article orderliness,but also can attract the readers' attention.For example:Some people like structured typesetting of article,and some people like unstructured typesetting of article.Past studies have focused on the relationship between power and the property of structure,but no one studies the relationship between cognitive style and the property of structure.Some people have studied the property of structure of the trademark,but no one studies the property of structure of article's typesetting.So this article is to study the property of structure of article's typesettingTherefore,based on the review of related literature and theories,this study proposes that individuals' cognitive style will affect their preference of the structure of article's typesetting.Individuals with systematic cognitive style are more likely to prefer the article's typesetting with strongly property of structure than Individuals with intuitive cognitive styles.The reason is that individuals with systematic cognitive styles have stronger desirability of control than individuals with intuitive cognitive styles,and the article's typesetting with strongly property of structure can meet the desirability of control of people with systematic cognitive style.Besides,when individuals have strongly need for cognition,cognitive style has greater impact on individual preference of the structure of article's typesetting than people with weakly need for cognition.In this paper,two experiments are carried out in the situation of controlling extraneous variables.the experimental results are analyzed by the SPSS24.0 software.This article discovers not only the relationship between the individual's cognitive style and the preference of the article's typesetting,but also the mediating effects of the desirability of control between the individual's cognitive style and the preference of the article's typesetting.In addition to this,It also discovers the moderating effect of the need for cognition between the individual's cognitive style and the preference of thearticle's typesetting.The results show that:(1)The people whose cognitive style is systematic style prefer the article's typesetting with strongly property of structure than the people whose cognitive style is intuitive style.(2)The desirability of control plays a mediating effect between individuals' cognitive style and the preference of structure of article's typesetting.The people whose cognitive style is systematic style prefer the article's typesetting with strongly property of structure,in part because those people have a strongly desirability of control.(3)The need for cognition plays a moderating effect between individuals' systematic style and the preference of structure of article's typesetting.when individuals have strongly need for cognition,systematic style has greater impact on individual preference of the structure of article's typesetting than people with weakly need for cognition.
