Study On Yangqi Ancestral Temple And Fanghui Of Yangqi's Zen

After the Song Dynasty,Yangqi School winning “appreciating the world” and“half the sky” has become Chinese and even overseas mainstream of Zen Buddhism,which has an irreplaceable value position and historical influence in the history of Zen Buddhism.If one want to studying Buddhism in the Song Dynasty,they must study Zen Buddhism;If one want to study Zen Buddhism,they must study the Linji Sect;If one want to study the Linji Sect,they must study the Yangqi School;However,the research on Master Fanghui of Yangqi and his disciples are necessary to the studying of Yangqi School,which is their internal connection and is also the causes value of this paper.Based of the two paths of ancestral temple,Zen thought,and Yangqi ancestral temple called Putong Temple,the paper aims to study Yangqi ancestral temple and Fanghui of Yangqi's Zen thought.the research of Yangqi Mountain's development of history,Fanghui of Yangqi's Zen thought and his disciples,it can be discovered that Yangqi Temple has been a Zen forest monastery,with the carrying forward of Zen masters such as Fanghui of Yangqi,later,which made it become the birthplace of Linji Sect Yangqi School,and occupied an important historical position and practical value in the history of Zen Buddhism,which is the main content of the second chapter.The third chapter expounds Fanghui of Yangqi's the condition of the enlightenment and the year of his birth and the place of his becoming a monk,by which it an be discovered that Fanghui of Yangqi was born in the year of 996 and died in 1049,and he became a monk in Daowu Mountain located in Tanzhou.The fourth chapter further elaborates on the Zen thought of Fanghui of Yangqi and his famous disciples with the help of the first chapters,which is also the core of the article.By comparing the similarities and differences between Fanghui of Yangqi's and Linji Master's Zen,to study the preservation and development of Linji Sect by Fanghui of Yangqi's Zen,aims to illustrate the uniqueness of Fanghui of Yangqi's Zen.The point,“the upright place is truth” raised by Fanghui of Yangqi is not an innovation,but an inheritance of Southern Zen Linji Sect.Through the considerationof the dilemma that Fanghui of Yangqi living in,his teaching theories of “Siyi Method” the theories of “under the heel” to further expand the thinking of the life of Zen thought.From this,we can understand the value and significance of Fanghui of Yangqi 's Zen to set up sect.As the saying goes “The skill comes from someone themselves,however the reputation is from others”,the research of Yangqi ancestral temple's culture needs to be realistic and surefooted,which is the contend of the fifth chapter.“Yangqi's lamplight lighting forever” and “the thought of under the heel” is his thought of the reality and is also his practical ways.
