The reform of education requires the examination-oriented education to turn to quality-oriented education. Therefore,English teaching also turns from paying too much attention to vocabulary and grammar to paying attention to the cultivation of learners'listening and speaking ability.English learning is an activity of cognition. If students can learn English well, they need to have not only psychological ability, but also certain cognitive ability. Both of them are indispensable.Learning motivation is very important in psychological factors.Without learning motivation, learning activities will not happen, learning tasks cannot be completed, and learning effectiveness cannot be achieved. Therefore, foreign language teaching has always paid much attention to the study of learning motivation. This study intends to address the following three problems:1.What is the current situation of English learning motivation of students in secondary vocational schools?2.The reasons why secondary vocational school students' English learning motivation show these characteristics.3.What kind of teaching strategies can be adopted to improve the English learning motivation of vocational students? The first question is elaborated through questionnaire, while the secondand third questions are analyzed based on teaching activities and cases. This study uses questionnaire, instructional design and semi-structured interviews with students. The questionnaire is conducted among 130 people in three accounting computerization classes in Wuhan electronic information technology school and then selected 10 students to receive semi-structured interviews. In this study, the author uses software SPSS 17.0 to analyze the data from questionnaire, implement teaching in one semester, conduct interview and finds that:(1)A considerable portion of vocational school students are not interested in English or the culture of English countries. The reasons why they learn English are to find a job,go abroad, enter a university, see English movies, listen to English songs, play games, etc. It shows that secondary vocational students' English learning motivation is mainly instrumental motivation.Because of that, the intensity of their English learning motivation is not high. They have a negative attitude about answering questions in class, spending extra time, encountering problems, etc. This shows that they are passive in learning English and lacking of enthusiasm and initiative. Some secondary vocational school students can objectively analyze their English learning effect and do the correct attribution, but part of them have a low self-efficacy.They ascribe the failure of learning English to the inadequacy of their ability rather than their own efforts.(2)By analyzing the English learning motivation influencing factors, such as teachers, students, attribution of success and failure,self-efficacy,etc,the author makes a deep study of the reasons why vocational school students' English learning motivation has such characteristics. It is also thinks that the English learning motivation of secondary vocational students can be greatly promoted,so English teachers can strengthen two kinds of motivation by teaching intervention.(3)According to the interview,a series of instructional interventions which are based on student's interest and need are effective in improving students' integrative motivation. At the same time, teachers' formulating reasonable learning goal, using many kinds of evaluation methods and guiding students correct attribution can promote secondary vocational students' instrumental motivation, increase the intensity of learning motivation, and enhance self-efficacy.(4)After the author adopts various teaching interventions, some students are still not interested in English.Their motivation is not motivated.Based on the above research results, the author discusses the implications of this study on the English teaching in secondary vocational schools:English teachers should pay attention to stimulate, cultivate and maintain the students' interest. They should improve their teaching, take a variety of teaching methods and insist on teaching reflection. They also should help students establish self-confidence,overcome the psychological anxiety and fear, enable students to study independently and then cultivate and enhance their motivation in learning English.
