Reading is the source for students to gain information from written materials,thus the ability of reading comprehending plays a vital role in students' English learning and especially the College Entrance Examination.During her 6 years' teaching,the author found that students did badly in reading comprehending part,which had a great impact on students' English level and their motivation of learning English.This thesis is based on the existed theories.The author tries to have reading classes with teaching plans in experimental class.Compared with control class with traditional teaching method,she will research if teaching plans can help students improve their interest in reading English,develop a good learning habit by autonomous learning,improve their reading comprehending ability and English grade.By comparing the effect of these two kinds of teaching methods,the author hopes to figure out a way which is more practical and efficient in reading teaching and a way that can improve students'reading comprehending ability and their English level.This research lasts a whole term.During the research,the students will be tested both before and after the experiment.After each test,the author will collect and analyze students' English grades and their scores on reading comprehending part.In order to investigate the students' attitude towards their reading comprehending teaching method,the author also designs a survey.They will be finished before the end of the research,and then the author will collect the data.By analyzing the data collected from the survey and the two tests,the author wants to know the effects of having reading class with different teaching method and hope to come to the conclusion that teaching plan is a better method in reading comprehending teaching.The conclusion the author gets from the research is that compared with students of control class,students of experimental class make more progress by using teaching plans to have reading lessons.Students in experimental class is more interested in reading and learning English.By autonomous learning,the students formed better learning habit.With their reading comprehending ability improved,students of experimental class also make great progress in their English level.This means that teaching plan method is indeed a good way for teaching reading lessons.Teachers can try to apply it to their teaching.But this conclusion is only drawn from the author's students from two classes as the subjects.It remains to be seen whether it can be applied to every high school student.And during the application of teaching plan method,teachers should also pay much attention to some students' improving very quickly while others falling behind.And teaching plan method should not be the only way to have English reading lessons,teachers should also apply other teaching methods in their reading lessons.
