Although the art of modern western abstract form was known as early as the 1930s and 1940s,it did not produce the corresponding continuous practice in China.It was not until the late 1980s and early 1990s,after the implementation of reform and opening up,that abstract art was gradually understood by more people because of the change in the cultural situation at that time,especially during the period of the "85 New trend."Influenced by the trend of western modernist art and the enhancement of independent consciousness of creation,some printmakers began the practice of printmaking with abstract meaning.Comparatively speaking,this kind of creative activity obviously lags behind the corresponding practice of other kinds of paintings,but it still caused a certain shadow after the end of 1990s.Sound and form the corresponding state.Although this kind of creative phenomenon is individualized and fragmented,it does not form a corresponding creative group and an open art manifesto,and it has not formed a consensus and been sought after in Chinese print creation for a period of time.However,abstract printmaking,as a new attempt,adds new possibilities to the creation of print itself,and it is a development of the past aesthetic forms and creative models,and more and more creators are gradually engaged in this mode of creative practice.This article is composed of introduction,text and conclusion.The first chapter summarizes the background and course of abstract art development in China,leads to the practice of abstract print creation.The second chapter focuses on the analysis of the multiple factors closely related to abstract print creation activities.The third chapter describes the current development of abstract printmaking.It also explains that abstract printmaking is the spontaneous choice of artists in a specific social environment,which is an individual choice,and this interactive relationship has always occurred in today's artistic environment.
