The existing studies mostly consider the impact on the children's care burden from the family economic situation and the self-care level of the elderly, but they lack the factors that weaken the child care burden from a positive perspective.Based on this, this study focuses on the burden of care and resource utilization of middle-aged children in order to uncover the important factors that ease the burden of care. Then, from the positive cultural perspective of filial piety,we examine its influence on the burden of care and subjective well-being.Specifically,this study explores the effect of filial piety on subjective well-being through the burden of care, and examines the moderating role of perceived organizational eldercare support. This article consists of two studies:In study one, based on stressor-strain-outcome framework,27 middle-aged employees with responsibility for the care of the elderly were interviewed to analyze the complexity of care, care burden, resource utilization and its problems. The results of the interview show that middle-aged children who are still at working age have certain economic strength.Their parents also have pensions and medical insurance. However, the self-care level, medical conditions, living habits, emotion, and personality characteristics of the elderly all complicate the care tasks. Therefore, the children are burdened with the pressure of economic, emotional, physical and role conflicts. In the process of coping with stress, children actively use individuals, groups, and social resources to cope with the burden of care, including the time resources given by the organization and the emotion based on filial piety.Organizational and emotional resources and family support systems are effective pressure-response factors.Children use less resources of nannies, nurses, and nursing homes, and the law lacks support policies for child caregivers. In the second study,a questionnaire survey was conducted with 323 employees who took care of their parents' responsibilities.Based on resource conservation theory and cultural normative models, the mediating role of the burden of care on filial piety and subjective well-being was explored,as well as the moderation of perceived organizational eldcare support(POES)in this process. The results of the study show that:(1)Filial piety negatively predict the burden of care;the burden of care negatively predicts subjective well-being;(2)The burden of care partially mediates the positive relationship between filial piety and subjective well-being;(3)POES moderates the negative relationship between filial piety and the burden of care. The relationship is stronger for caregivers with high POES;(4)High level of POES moderates the effect of filial piety on subjective well-being through the burden of care. Both studies have suggested that filial piety have positive effects on reducing the perceived burden of care and enhancing individual subjective well-being.As China's ageing trend continues to increase, with regard to the support system for children's caregivers, the state can combine the company to pubish policy of leave for the care of the elderly's needs. This will not only enable the children to fully perform their filial piety, but also help the family develop the function of caring the aged, and also helps to reduce the country's pension burden.
