Filial piety,as a traditional culture of the Chinese nation, profoundly affects people's psychology and behavior, and has become one of the focuses of psychology localization research. The dual filial piety model established by Yeh,a scholar in Taiwan, provides a referential research path for the research based on the emerging new filial piety. The dual filial piety model forms two kinds of filial piety beliefs based on the two-way parent-child interaction and individual belief cognition. One is the reciprocal filial piety that values respecting, honoring and honoring the relatives, and the other is the authoritative filial piety that emphasizes restraining oneself from obeying and protecting the relatives.Different beliefs of filial piety will influence our behavior. In the family, adult with different filial piety beliefs will provide different types of social support to their parents. How do adult parents' filial piety beliefs and their children's social support affect their own subjective well-being.The research mainly discusses two issues: first, the influence of adults' filial piety belief and subjective well-being on providing parents social support, and what role does subjective well-being play in this process.Second, how did adult parents' belief in filial piety and acceptance of their children's social support affect their own subjective well-being.Based on the dual filial piety theory, this study uses the dual filial piety scale, the social support scale and the subjective well-being scale to measure the filial piety belief of adults, adult parents' belief filial piety, the social support of parents, the social support of parents to their children, the subjective well-being of adults and the subjective well-being of the children's parents, respectively.Using a convenient sampling method,350 adults and their parents were surveyed,a total of 700 questionnaires.the following conclusions were reached:(1)Adults reciprocal filial piety can positively predict instrumental and affective support for parents, while authoritative filial piety can only positively predict affective support for parents;(2)Subjective well-being of adults can positively predict instrumental and emotional support for parents, while subjective well-being plays an intermediary role in therelationship between the influence of mutual filial piety belief on the provision of social support for parents;(3)Adult parents' filial piety belief and children's instrumental support could not predict their subjective well-being,and only receiving children's emotional support could significantly predict their subjective well-being.These results suggest that both reciprocal and authoritative filial piety can promote social support provided to parents, and the emotional support received by adult parents can predict their subjective happiness level.Future research can further focus on the internal mechanism among adults and their parents' filial piety beliefs, social support and subjective well-being.
