Research On The Strategies And Effects Of The Life Crafting After Retirement

With the growing aging degree of the current situation and increasing number of retirees,about 25%of the retired people shows of a decline in psychological health level,as a result of maladjustment of retirement,"the syndrome of retired" begin to attract the attention of the researchers.The physical and mental health of retirees is not only about the harmony of individuals or families,but also about the stability of the whole society and the country.And it is an important criterion to test social progress and people’s happiness.This article try to figure out how to help retirees adapt to the change of role after retirement,faster the speed of adapting to the retirement.With the help of the concept "life crafting",focusing on the changes in life and strategies the retirees take in order to adapt to the retirement.We explore the relationship among the life crafting,the retirement adaption and the life satisfaction.Our research is divided into three phases:the first phase is the qualitative research stage.By semi-structured interviews of 17 retirees and the coding analysis of the interview details,we constructed the substance and structure of the life crafting.It is found that the life crafting contains four aspects,there are social relations,physical and mental health,hobbies,and other aspects.The second stage is the questionnaire development stage.According to the first phase of the qualitative study,we develop the predictive questionnaire of the life crafting and put it into testing.We got 203 valid questionnaires,through the exploratory factor analysis,we preliminarily determines the structure of the life crafting which includes five dimensions,there are social relations,physical and mental health,hobbies,learning and improving,working state.The life crafting questionnaire contains 25 items.Confirmatory factor analysis of 212 valid questionnaires for the formal application was validated again.The third stage,we discusses the relationship among the life crafting,retirement adaptation and life satisfaction,the outcomes of correlation analysis and regression analysis found that the life crafting has a significant positive influence on retirement adaptation and life satisfaction.In details,for the dimensions of the life crafting,social relationships,physical and mental health,hobbies,learning and improving have a significant positive influence on retirement adaptation and life satisfaction.Life satisfaction plays a part of mediating between life crafting and retirement adaptation.
