The English-chinese Translation Of The Reality Of Retirement Income In Canada And A Report On The Translation

The thesis consists of three parts, namely, the source text of The Reality of Retirement Income in Canada, its Chinese version translated by the author and a report on translation.The source text analyzes the current situation of retirement income in Canada in many ways, and data and analyses are employed to reverse the assertion that retirement income in Canada is inadequate. It provides the domestic researchers with some latest materials for reference. In addition, the translation of such an informative text is of significance to the translator because it helps her to deepen her understanding of translation theories as well as improve her translation skills.The translation report introduces some basic information about the source text,including its background, main ideas and language features. Examples are cited to explain how the author and translator resorts to such translation techniques as amplification, conversion, splitting and recasting under the guidance of the Skopos Theory. Then the translation experience is summed up.
