The soul breathed into the clay and the man is coming,man turned clay into a city.Cities accompany human development,cities are not only places for human material production,but also places where human culture is nurtured.The development of the city has gone through three stages: ancient cities ? industrial city ? metropolis.Since1970 ' s,Capitalist mode of production is going through a transition that Ford system change into Flexible accumulation,“time-space compression”is the main way of people's inner experience.“Time is sparialization”,Space become the main part of historical narration.The urban where human product and live in is the one of most display degree of spatial form,the study of contemporary urban development from the perspective of space has become a theme.This paper focuses on the development of contemporary urban culture from the perspective of space philosophy.The development of contemporary urban culture has dual nature.On the one hand,urban culture is characterized by diversity ? richness and timeliness.On the other hand,the characteristics of urban culture are consumerized,simplified and controlled.The contemporary urban culture is in a dilemma because of its suspense.This paper explores the expression of the predicament of contemporary urban culture and the reasons for it,it aimes to build a newmodel of urban culture.
