Purpose This study aimed to determine the effect of sport fatigue and footwear on ankle proprioception for recreational Latin dancers by t repeat measurement’s methods.Methods24 healthy adult recreational dancers(12 males,12 females)from School of recreational sport and art were included in this research.In a well-organized Latin class,prior to class,all participants would accept 2 active movement extent discrimination assessments(AMEDA)conducted by testers,in barefoot and wearing Latin shoes,respectively.After accepted a 6-hour Latin training,all participants also experience one same series of ankle proprioception assessment procedure as pre-class.Finally,ankle proprioception were analyzed by using Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve and Area under curve(AUC)were calculated as the proprioception ability to determine the effects of sport fatigue and footwear for recreational Latin dancers.Results:1.It was found that no significant difference existed in gender and whether with or without injury history by one-way ANOVA.A 2*2 RM ANOVA analysis suggested that both Latin shoes(F=7.715,p=0.011)and sport fatigue(F=31.069,p=0.000)resulted in significant declines of AUC value.2.Significant differences existed both wearing and sport fatigue(F=7.715,p=0.011;F=31.069,p=0.00,respectively)by 2*2 repeated ANONA analysis,no interactive influence existed(F=2.535,p=0.125)3.Training years existed significant liner negative correlations with the AUC changes resulted from sport fatigue and Latin shoes (r1=-0.582,p=0.003;r2=-0.513,p=0.010,respectively).Conclusion Sport fatigue and Latin shoes would both limit the ability of ankle proprioception,but the changes resulted from fatigue and footwear significantly negatively correlated with personal‘s training years provided indirect evidence that training would reduce the risk of ankle injury for dancers,in a long-time Latin dance performance or training especially.
