A Practice Report On Chinese Translation Of 2014-2016 GEM Indonesia National Report

This is a Chinese translation practice report,and the title of the original text is named as 2014-2016 GEM Indonesia National Report(includes 2014 report and 2015/2016 report).The source of these two reports is from the 2nd ASEAN Marketing Summit and the 4th ASIAN Conference of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.Meanwhile,these two reports mainly elaborate the entrepreneurship development in Indonesia,the different development stages of Indonesian entrepreneurs and the entrepreneurship ecosystem of Indonesia and other ASEAN countries.In this situation,it is of significance to translate these two reports into Chinese to share with more researchers in the relevant research fields and provide a reference for them.Apart from introduction and conclusion,this report consists of five parts: task description,task process,difficulties in translation practice,analysis to theoretical basis—“Translation Variation Theory” and case studies.The first part introduces the source and background of the original text,the analysis of its content and the requirements from the original author.The second part illustrates the whole translation process,including the pre-translation preparation(translation tools and translation theory selection and the elaboration for the emergency plan),the translation schedule(specific operation process of translation task,description of task progress and emergency situation description),and post-translation task(to continue post-editing and finalize the translated version).The third part mainly analyzes and sums up the types of difficulties encountered in the translation practice.The fourth part points out the theoretical thinking for three types of difficulties.Besides,through analyzing “Translation Variation Theory”,the relevant translation methods like compiling,selecting,transferring,substituting,explanation and narration has been summarized in the part.The fifth part is the case study,that is,the process of using the translation variation and complete translation method in the “Translation Variation Theory” to solve the difficulties in the translation practice.The conclusion part summarizes the experience,achievements and lessons learned from the translation practice.In addition,under the guidance of “Translation Variation Theory” this translation practice report explains how to use the compiling,selecting,transferring,substituting,explanation and narration method to solve the difficulties encountered in the translation process.In the meantime,through utilizing the CAT software—Power Echo,the translation efficiency,the quality of the corpus and the readability of the translated version have been enhanced,which offers certain reference for other translators in the relevant research fields.What's more,this translation practice report intends to illustrate that the whole translation practice process is a three-dimensional process combining the translation practice,the analysis of “Translation Variation Theory” with solutions to the difficulties guided by the Theory.In conclusion,this report aims to provide more research materials and to share the process,methods and results of the translated version as reference to more researchers and translation enthusiasts.
