The extreme complement of degree is a special grammatical structure in Chinese,which expresses a certain extreme feeling or state.It is a common expression in spoken language.However,due to the lack of such a structure in the native language of foreign students and the complexity of extreme complement of degree itself,it has always been a difficult point in teaching Chinese as a second language.Based on the related research results,"College of foreign students learning Chinese long-term teaching syllabus" and students commonly used Chinese textbooks,we determined the scope of extreme complement of degree,and based on the modern Chinese corpus of Peking University CCL,using the method of literature research and statistical analysis,we make out a detailed statistical analysis of the general characteristics of the extreme complement of degree from syntactic,semantic and pragmatic perspectives,and study the extreme complement of degree particular case.Then by using the method of questionnaire,we researched 50 American students about the acquisition of extreme complement of degree,found that American students' errors about acquiring the extreme complement of degree include omission,addition,overrepresentation and wrong sequence,and made statistics about the proportion of these four errors types.Then,by using the method of statistical analysis,analyzed the number and error rate of using extreme complements degree in the HSK corpus of Beijing Language and Culture University.According to the survey results and database and examples,explored the errors type of American students' acquisition of extreme complement of degree,and analyzed the reasons of those errors,and then put forward the corresponding teaching suggestions,with a view to help improve the teaching work of teaching American students extreme complement of degree especially senior students and provide more reference for textbook compilation related the content of extreme complement of degree.
