This is an English-Chinese translation report which is based on a fantasy novel named Skellig written by David Almond,a renowned children's literature writer. The language of the novel is characterized by conciseness, vividness, rhythmicity and is full of fun.The main characters of the novel include a strange angel named Skellig and two children named Michael and Mina whose language and tone have their own features.Due to the above reasons, the author of this report takes this novel as the basis of her translation report analyzing the translation from the perspectives of the translation of phonological patterns, words and tone in the hope of reproducing and highlighting the stylistic features of the source text. The report consists of five parts. They are the description of the translation task, the description of the translation process, literature review, the case study and conclusion sequentially. In the first place, the author gives introduction to the translation task and source text as well as the significance of the translation. After that, the author describes the translation process, namely, the pre-translation stage, the detailed while-translation stage and then the stage of proofreading, reflection and conclusion. The forth chapter, the most important one of the report, introduces three dimensions of the case study in detail. The first dimension is the translation of phonological patterns, including sound patterns and onomatopoeia, followed by the translation of words, namely, the use of reduplicated words in translation and the translation of culture-loaded words. The last dimension is the translation of tone, which includes the use of modal particles in translation and the translation of mood of sentences. The last chapter is the conclusion,in which the author summarizes the whole report and comes up with the strategies about how to re-produce the stylistic features in the target language. The translation is in the hope of improving her translation quality by reproducing the stylistic features when translating children's literature work.
