| Children’s literary works refer to the ones that conform to children’s age characteristics,which are suitable for them to read.This kind of literary genre is characterized by readability and uniqueness of target readers.Because of the special physiological development and aesthetic taste of children and other young readers,Children’s literary works with words that are lively and easy to understand have high requirements for enjoyment and readability.In addition,children’s literary works,as a branch of literature works,contain literary forms,such as the use of speech figures,special forms of writing,which cannot be ignored.Therefore,the translator should fully consider children’s and young readers’ reading experience,carefully choose words that are easy for them to understand,and reproduce the literary characteristics of the works.Besides,the translator should make the translation interesting at times to promote readers’ experience.Lady and the Tramp,as one of the many animated works produced by The Walt Disney Company of America,has a high value of translation.To attract readers,the translator concentrates on readability,enjoyment and literary features.This paper consists of five parts as follows:The first part is an introduction.The translator briefly introduces this translation project,its background,significance and aim;mentions the special characteristics of children’s literature works.Besides,The translator illustrates the translation strategy:using children’s language to analyze how to translate the enjoyment of children’s literary works,increasing readability and reproducing the literary features of the works.In the second part,the translator deals with the readability of children’s literature,and focuses on the readability from the perspective of words and sentences.To be specific,the translator should use the words that readers can accept and understand easily,split long sentences into short ones to improve their reading experience.In the third part,the translator elaborates the enjoyment in children’s literature.By listing a lot of examples,the translator discusses how to translate the dialogue of characters and how to make interesting translation according to the different scenes.In the fourth part,the author discusses the literary features in children’s literature translation.The translator flexibly reproduces the figures of speech and special text form in the original work to make the language more vivid and aesthetic.The fifth part is translator’s understanding of the whole translation process.The translator ought to make full preparations before translation,determine the style of the work and make the translation of proper nouns unified.When translating,the translator should deliberate on words and sentences,after that,the translator should revise and edit the translation constantly to make the translation work much better. |
