Based on the study of the whole English translation of The Peony pavilion from the perspective of cross-cultural communication,this thesis analyzes the characteristics of cross-cultural communication of its plays,summarizes the nature of the cultural factors presented,and finally discusses the concept,perplexity and strategies of The Peony pavilion into the classroom of Chinese.The thesis is divided into three parts:The introduction starts from the purpose and significance of the study,and makes clear the topic and origin.In the current context of cultural globalization,the promotion of Chinese traditional culture and the promotion of cultural exchanges between China and the West are the needs of the times.The Peony pavilion is a legendary work of tang xianzu in Ming dynasty.After it has been around for more than four hundred years,it has a new era meaning.In 2001,UNESCO specifically announced the Chinese kunqu art as an oral and intangible cultural heritage of mankind.Nowadays,the international influence of China is increasing,the Kun Opera of The Peony Pavilion go abroad,especially the youth edition of The Peony Pavilion in the world,making kunqu spread traditional Chinese classic drama of cross-cultural communication.The first chapter analyzes the cross cultural communication of The Peony Pavilion English version.There are two translations in the English translation of The Peony Pavilion,the "translation" of the sinologist and the "translation" model of the domestic scholars.In this chapter,the characteristics of the English translation of Birch,Zhang Guangqian and Wang Rongpei are summed up by the literature research method,and the comparison and analysis of the same translations of the three translations are selected to sum up the English translation of The Peony Pavilion.Problems and strategies for future communication.The second chapter focuses on the typical stage performances of ThePeony Pavilion in the 1980 s and 1990 s,combing through the current situation of the dissemination of opera,legendary,youth and garden versions of The Peony Pavilion,and analyzing the cross-cultural theoretical knowledge embodied in the performances,including the cognitive system of culture,cultural rights,cultural concept system,cultural relativism,social interaction and identity.The language and non-language symbols in communication,cultural diversity and so on.Finally,it sums up the enlightenment of Kun Opera of The Peony pavilion to the world,that is,Chinese and foreign exchanges and media publicity.The third chapter focuses on the teaching of The Peony Pavilion in the classroom of Chinese as a foreign language.Including teaching conception,perplexity,implementation strategy and teaching meaning,The Peony Pavilion teaching is proved to be the classical material of Chinese culture dissemination by means of the questionnaire.The conclusion emphasizes once again the unique charm of Kun Opera of The Peony Pavilion,and looks forward to the Chinese traditional culture entering the international classroom.
