A Study Of Body Aesthetics In Paris Manuscripts

In 1999,pragmatism scholar Shusterman proposed first that body aesthetics should be considered as a kind of subject.However,the idea about body aesthetics came out before Shusterman.Before that,Marx had contained profound body aesthetics idea in his Paris Manuscripts.The body aesthetics idea in Paris Manuscripts is proposed in “ Aesthetics Revolution” in the principle of “sensuous objective activity”.Through the principles of “sensuous objective activity”,Marx changes his traditional western physical value of “suppressing body and developing inspiration” and “suppressing body and promoting intellect”.He turns the situation that human's body is belittled by soul and sense into the perceptual ontology,which confirms the importance of the nature of perceptual body.In “sensuous objective activity”,according to the law of aesthetics,human verifies that their activities are free during the transformation and construction.Therefore,the process is also aesthetic.In the principle of “sensuous objective activity”,the body aesthetics idea in Paris Manuscript is reflected in following three aspects:first,human realizes their sociality in “sensuous objective activity”,so human organ is not only the wild organ,but the organ with aesthetic feeling;second,in “sensuous objective activity”,nature is considered as inorganic body and reformed.Nature is unified with human,and the universality of human is affirmed.Therefore,human naturally generate aesthetic objects “basing on the law of aesthetics”;third,in “sensuous objective activity”,human transforms the target world through their bodies.Human verifies their free existence with thoughts and perceptual feeling.Then human body creates aesthetic taste.In summary,there are three characteristics about body aesthetics in Paris Manuscripts: practicality,criticalness and idealism.From the time,the year of creating Paris Manuscripts of Marx is different with present era.The body aesthetics idea still has realistic and theoretical values for nowadays society.In reality,the body aesthetics idea still has important value in the consistent development among health,body sculp and psychological construction in contemporary society.In theory,the body aesthetics idea expands the aesthetics research field and enrich esthetic education contents.
