Communism Can Restrain From Evil

Evil is not only a concept that covers many social phenomena,but also a political philosophy that can not be evaded when people exploring the human essence.After we clarify the meaning and the basic types of evil,the more crucial issue that we urgently need to solve is: How can evil be conquered ?Compared with the traditional Western ethics,the contemporary thinkers reflected more on modern ethics from the issue of evil.We can find that contemporary thinkers' critique and reflection on evil have all been inspired by Kant's ethics at different levels.Kant put forward the idea that "fundamental evil" is rooted in human nature and originated from free will.And only human's self-discipline can avoid evil.If Kant explained a theorized and empty "formal ethics" as Hegel's criticism,and he only focused on the "personal ethics" of personal freedom and moral self-discipline.Then Marx's revolutionary change was his "substantive ethics",which took certain socio-economic status quo into account,and constructed a realistic set of "institutional ethics" based on the basic intention of Kant's ethics.Marx realized the value of Kant's moral self-discipline,but he cared more about the social system and brought a real revolution to ethics.Marx considered the reality and analyzed why the alienated labor and private property led to the evil of the capitalist system.Based on the critique of the inherent evil in capitalism,Marx proposed a communist society capable of achieving a human way of life.In a communist society,people can not only better realize the moral self-discipline demanded by Kant,but also can bring about the humanity restoration and development.Thus,communism can conquer evil.
