Research On Mencius' Idea Of "Sacred King" From The Perspective Of Moral Politics

Mencius' "Sacred King" thought was put forward in the context of the Spring and Autumn and the Warring States period when the princes were contending for hegemony and the people were living in poverty.Mencius inherited the moral and political foundation with Confucius' "benevolence" at the core,and put forward "Sexual Goodness" on the basis of Confucius "Benevolence." Mencius' "Sacred King" thought is the inheritance and supplementation of Confucian political philosophy.It is based on the cultivating his own family and integrates personal morality with political norms.Therefore,during the hegemony of the princes in the Spring and Autumn Period,Mencius' s "king" thought had far-reaching significance for governing the country.Mencius set out from reality and proposed that rulers want to achieve long-term peace and stability,and their roots lie in the "kingdom." Mencius believes that the fundamental reason for the realization of the Holy King is the good end,because human nature is good,so if we want to rule the people must take the good as the fundamental,keep in mind the nature of maintaining the good will remain unchanged.Having "good" is the basis of the humanity of "Holy King".Apart from this,if people are to live and be happy,they also need to protect the people,support the people,and make the people happy,so as to realize the political ideal of "Holy King." Mencius' s "Holy King" thought is also a representative example of the "moral politics" thought of the pre-Qin Confucianism.Moral politics is the pursuit of "value" and "idea" and ideal.At the same time,we are pursuing the mutual induction of the heavens and the mankind,integrating humanity with human beings,and paying attention to the dedication of individual morality and the country's overall value.The politics of Confucianism is a kind of depolitic politics.Its starting point is respect for human beings and trust in human nature.It is a "kingdom" based on self-improvement and moral control.The combination of morality and politics is one.The basic formation of Mencius' "Sacred King" thought was mainly due to the ceremonial collapse and bad music in the Spring and Autumn Period.Mencius always adhered to the ideal of "Holy King" to fight against hegemony and hoped that the moral ideal would be practiced in real politics.Mencius inherited Confucius' s teaching people,enriched people's thoughts,and German governance ideology Mencius advocated the concept of “good governance” in the concept of “rule of rulership,” as stated in “Leaving from the Frontier”: “Being good is not enough for the government,but the law cannot be self-reliant.” Mencius hopes “Sage” is culture and moral education to educate the people in order to achieve “kingdom.” Although the concept of “Holy King” has not been explicitly proposed,the embryonic form of the “Holy King” thought has emerged.In ancient times,the sage-headed pilgrim absorbed and adopted Mencius' idea of governing the country,which made the country and the people and the people live a prosperous life.This article is divided into two parts: The first and second chapters are the first part.Through the tracing of the sources of Mencius' thoughts,we can further explore the reasons for the formation of Mencius' "Sacred King" and the reflection and investigation of the times.The ideal paradigm of philosophy;the third and fourth chapters are the second part.Although this article does not analyze "endogenous" and "outer king",but in the third chapter,the human nature of Mencius' concept of "Holy King" is essentially related to the theory.It is "holy," and only individuals whose morality has reached the limit can qualify as "holy." The fourth chapter of Mencius' idea of "Holy King" is actually to explain how to become a king.The starting point of Confucian political philosophy is based on "benevolence" to realize the Holy King.Through the stratification of methods,the essence of Mencius' philosophical thought of "Santa King" was explored.This article attempts to explore the essence of the "Holy King" without making a clear separation.
