Personal development relies on this structure of family,financial situation,and the effective and effective less interaction among family members.During the process of children's study and life,family environments make a great influence.It is the same case with English learning.Therefore,a study of the impact of family environments on primary school students' English learning is of great value and practical teaching significance.Through questionnaire this study examines the first grade students from 6 classes in a certain Central Primary School.It focuses on three research questions:(1)What are the positive and negative factors of family environments affecting primary students' English learning?(2)Do family environments decide on the failure or success of primary students' English learning?(3)What are the strategies for improving the family environments which influence primary students' English learning? In order to achieve the purpose of the study,50 excellent students and 50 students with learning difficulty were randomly selected from third grade classes.The sample is a total of 100 students.Among them,there are 49 boys and 51 girls,with 90 students from only-child families.Also,this study uses research methods of literature analysis and interview.It sorts out and analyses the collected data.The results from data analysis indicate: In some degree parenting influences the English achievement of primary school students.The family's circumstance with peace,democracy,positive energy,encouragement and regular supervision is good for students' physical and mental health.As well as for students' English learning,In contrast,the family's circumstance with criticism,blame,punishment leads to students' hating learning and less confidence.So students' English learning is imparted negatively.To some extent,family financial situations and parents' educational backgrounds also affect children's English learning.The conclusions and implications of this study are as follows: It is important to construct a good and friendly family environment for primary students' English learning.Teachers and parents should fully recognize the positive factors of family environments which affect primary children's English learning,and help them enhance English learning interests and motivation.Parents are the first teacher and model of children,and should set up a good example.The active cooperation and interaction between the school and parents is a must in order to create learning-oriented families and a new prospect.
