Purpose: In this study,we aim at that: 1)explore how children's illusory bias of self-perception develops.2)investigate the influence of family environment on children's illusory bias of self-perceptions.Methods: This study consists of two parts: In the first part, the questionnaires and IAT were used to measure the explicit and implicit illusory bias of self-perception of grade 3?6.The univariate multivariate analysis of 2 × 3 variance was used to analyze the development of children's illusory bias of self-perception.The second part is to analyze how family environment affect children's illusory bias of self-perception.Firstly,the inconsistencies of parents' rating of children were evaluated.Secondly,we conducted correlation and regression analysis on the data, and established the relationship between family environment and children's illusory bias of self-perception.Finally,the Bootstrap method was used to test the mediating effect of parents' negative psychological characteristics on children's illusory bias of self-perceptions.Results:(1)Children have explicit negative illusory biases in social, scholastic, athletic, physical appearance, and behavioral conduct dimensions, children have implicit positive illusory bias in social dimension.(2)The differences between the sixth grade children and the fifth grade children in academic are significant. The sixth grade children have significantly higher levels of athletic NIB than the third, fourth, fifth grade children, while there is no significant difference in the children's athletic NIB of the third, fourth, and fifth grade;the development of boys and girls are different in the NIB of the physical appearance, and the physical appearance NIB of girls in grade 5 is significantly lower than that of boys.(3)The Intra-class correlation coefficient of parents' rating of chlidren was low to moderate.Parents' ratings of children were significantly different in scholastic and physical appearance dimensions.(4)There was a negative correlation between parents' ratings and the total score of children's negative bias of self-perceptions and each dimension;parents' ratings of children can inversely predict the negative illusory bias of self-perceptions,father's ratings has a stronger predictive effect on children's scholastic NIB,social NIB,athletic NIB,behavioral conduct NIB and NIB total score.(5)The mother's anxiety, the father's depression, the total score of parental stress were positively correlated with the total score of NIB and each dimension, the total score of parenting stress, difficult children, parental distress, and mother anxiety have positive predictive effects on negative illusory bias of selfperceptions in different dimensions and each dimension, father's negative psychological characteristics have a stronger predictive effect on children's NIB.(6)Parents ' rating mediates the effects of family environment on negative illusory bias of self-perception.Conclusions:(1)Children have explicit negative illusory biases and implicit positive illusory biases in social dimension.(2)Children's negative illusory bias of selfperception had an increasing trend, and children's different dimensions of negative illusory bias of self-perception were different with growth of the grade.(3)The influence of family environment on children's negative illusory bias of self-perception is mainly achieved through parental ratings, negative psychological characteristics, and family commonality.(4)Parents ' rating mediates the effects of family environment on negative illusory bias of self-perception.
