The Yuan Dynasty was an important historical period for the integration of the nationalities,when the Mongol nationality entered the central plains and established the great Yuan Dynasty,with unprecedented broad territory,many nationalities and complex ethnic structure.In Yuan Dynasty,various regions and nationalities exchanged closely and communication with outside also flourished,which made the Yuan Dynasty be in a multicultural atmosphere,and the jades of Yuan Dynasty developed in this context.Based on the small number of unearthed jades of Yuan Dynasty,the paper first particularly codifies the unearthed jades of Yuan Dynasty,and then classifies the ones with same shapes and decorations to facilitate the overall understanding.In the paper,the study on the shapes of the jades of Yuan Dynasty is on the basis of diverse cultures,which are divided into four categories such as the north prairie culture,the central plains farming culture,the religious culture and the western culture.Although the development of the shapes of jades of Yuan Dynasty was affected by the agricultural culture of central plains to some extent,it did not shake the shape languages of the northern nomadic people who took the prairie culture as their cornerstone and the manifestation of the northern grassland culture is the most important characteristics of the shaping arts.In addition,the shapes of jades of Yuan dynasty inherited that of Liao and Jin Dynasty,and the shaping languages of the northern nomadic people had injected fresh blood into the traditional Chinese jades,having a profound influence on the shape development of Ming and Qing Dynasty jades,which was an important part in the development history of the ancient Chinese jades.
