The China Weekly Review was founded by American journalist Thomas Franklin Fairfax Millard in Shanghai.It has a certain level of Visibility and influence in the English-speaking country,and among the Chinese intellectuals.And the “Who is Who in China” column is one of its most distinctive fixed columns.From the column opened in 1918 until it ended in 1948,the column had totally introduced more than 1500 Chinese celebrities,among them,including more than 200 Zhejiang celebrities,which accounting for more than 13% of the total person,and far higher than other provinces.Analyzing this group is conducive to understand The Republic of China Society in the Eyes of Westerners.Through the analysis of the social structure and social network of the group,it's shown that some traditional factors,such as geographical factors,classmate relationships,and friend relationships still affected the composition of the group of Zhejiang celebrities,and had a profound impact on the real society.It's embodied in the fields of political,economic and cultural of the republic of China which appeared a series of zhejiang celebrities with professional identities.They played an important role in promoting the transformation of Chinese society from tradition to modernity.
