The major purpose of this research are to design a hope program for Secondary vocational school students and to examine the effects of the course on the mental health,personal capital and student achievement of secondary vocational school students.The research concludes two parts.The first part: the hope program was designed on the basis of positive psychology and hope theory,characteristics of the psychological development of Secondary vocational school students.The second part: an experimental design of complete random grouping before and after testing.In a vocational high school in Ningbo,six senior high school classes were selected,207 students.They were randomly divided into experimental group and control group.The students in the experimental group received the hope program once a week for 40 minutes,and the students in the control group received daily psychological courses.At the end of the course,through the combination of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis,the effects of this course on the mental health,personal capital and academic achievement of secondary vocational school students were tested.Results of the study:(1)There were significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in the scores of the acquired helplessness and well-being scale(F(1,206)=7.761,p<0.01;F(1,206)=6.739,p<0.01);(2)There were significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in the scores of hope,resilience and relationship scale(F(1,206)=11.518,p<0.01;F(1,206)=5.142,p<0.05;t=2.40,p<0.05);(3)There was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the score of post-test in academic achievement(F(1,206)=18.465,p<0.01);(4)There was significant difference in the post-test scores between the experimental group and the control group on the component tables of approaching goals and avoidance targets(F(1,206)=19.969,p<0.01;F(1,206)=4.321,p<0.05).,and the degree of achievement and the degree of effort of the experiment had themain effect of experimental treatment(F(1,206)=6.636,p<0.05;F(1,206)=20.269,p<0.01)The research found that the hope program had a significant effect on the mental health,personal capital,academic achievement and goal-oriented motivation of the students in the experimental class.
