With the sub-cultural vocabulary of “anime tourism” selected as top10 of “Japan 2016 Hot Words”,this activity of going to anime shooting location for tourism purposes has been accepted by the Japanese society.Some towns rejuvenate itself by the tourism industry developed based on anime,Japan Tourism Agency introduces policies to support anime-related tourism,and some towns even go for anime companies directly to plan and produce anime with regional background of its own.Anime tourism has become an indispensable part of Japan’s tourism industry.With the continuous development of new media,more and more anime fans of China go to Japan and experience anime tourism.Some of them post related information on new media platform in China to further attract other Chinese anime fans.Japanese anime and the ever-growing Chinese anime begin to find a view in China,thus anime tourism industry in China begin to take shape.In this study,field trips are made to the anime shooting locations to learn about local people’s view of anime tourism culture,and questionnaires are distributed to understand how Chinese fans participate in anime tourism culture both on-line and off-line,and then case studies are adopted to learn about how anime tourism culture are spread over the new media.Lastly,suggestions are made for anime tourism development of China based on the issues in cultural construction and communication of Chinese anime tourism.The author believes that there is a difference for the cultural construction of anime tourism in China and that of Japan.Japan’s anime tourism starts from self-motivated exploration and investigation by Japanese anime fans,while China’s anime tourism absorbs contents and experience from existing anime tourism new media at home and abroad.Therefore,the cultural construction of anime tourism of China needs further efforts of domestic anime tourism new media to promote its development in terms of popularity,channels,contents and policy support,thus facilitating the development of anime tourism culture.
