A Study On A Visual Representation Of The "Diary Picture Book"

As we entered an era of reading pictures,reading pictures or graphs has become a form of visual culture.After the “personal picture book” became prevalent,these years,many painters were active on social networks such as Weibo and Douban.They recorded their lives by painting,with brief and diary style words on it.These works are popular among readers,and then they will be serialized in e-picture book or be published in paper book.With the power of the network in this era,this burgeoning original picture book has formed its own style,and showed a unique visual charm.By referring to lots of related literature at home and abroad,we find that there are many expressions as for picture books,including “private picture book”,“original picture book”,“diary picture book”,“picture book diary” and “painting diary”,etc.By integrating different expressions,though the form and content are similar,there are still subtle differences.By in-depth analysis of the characteristics of these picture books and comparison with the traditional picture book,combined with the applicability of visual communication design,we chose to do form research on the “diary picture book”,which integrates creation and design better.We discussed about how to promote atmosphere in the picture with the help of role modeling,text composition,picture composition model,color selection and other multiple visual forms,and how to attract readers by varied art styles in combination with graffiti style of painting art.And this paper has a theoretical guiding significance in the creation of the “diary picture book”.This paper aims to analyze the case comprehensively and carefully,research and discuss the fundamental theory and direction of the “diary picture book”,and it hopes to find a solution to the current situation of a lack of excellent domestic original paper book.
