Famous writer Liu Heng’s novels are unique, with a wide range of social influence. He has won the national excellent short story award, Zhuang C hongwen prize for literature, Lu Xun literature prize, the first Beijing literature and art award, the first of Lao She’s literature award and the eighth session of the " five-one project". His novels language widely used a variety of rhetorical means, which is incisive and profound, smart and strange, image and humor, subtle and full, vivid and strange. This paper takes Liu Heng’s seventeen novels as the research object, to explore the unique rhetorical phenomena and rhetoric art of novel language.This paper consists of three parts, the first part is the introduction, mainly introduces the topic origin, research significance, domestic research status and research methods. The second part is the main body of the thesis, which is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is the phonetic rhetoric art of Liu Heng’s novels, mainly to explore onomatop oeias, reduplicated words and the r-ending retroflexion of the rhetoric art. The second chapter is to study the rhetoric art of Liu Heng’s novels, mainly discuss the dialect words, parts of speech and changing the emotional colour of words. The third chapter is to explore rhetorical art of novel sentences, respectively from the extraordinary collocation, synonym inverted sentences, cognate recurrences and sentence morpheme used to explore the different rhetorical effect. The fourth chapter is an investigation of rhetoric in the novels of Liu Heng, specifically discussed the synaesthesia, exaggeration, contradiction, catchword repetition, circle, parody, metaphor, analogy and other figures of speech. The fifth chapter is the comparison of novel rhetoric of Wang Meng, Shi Tiesheng and Liu Heng, who are Beijing writers during the same period. And it is to explore the unique charm of the language in the artistic creation. The third part is the conclusion, mainly on the previously summarized, and point out the direction of future research.
