The unique discrete narration in the overseas Chinese literature has been developed into a climax in the writings of overseas writers in the 1950's and 1960's,which has permanently influenced the writing themes, contents, subjects and aesthetics of overseas Chinese writers. At the same time, after decades of researchers' construction, the aesthetic experience and aesthetic imagination developed from the discrete narration have become the unique discourse system and theory resource of Chinese literature research in the works of overseas Chinese novels.Since 1990's,in the background of globalization, the new-rising North America's new Chinese immigrant writers have changed their writing style. The aesthetic experience and imagination such as national difference, politic isolation, racial discrimination, and cultural nostalgia included in the discrete narration of their novels have been faded. Two up-rising stars as the North America's immigrant writers,Chen Qian and Yuan Jingmei, have contributed novels with obvious dediscretization characteristic to the North America's Chinese literature in the new century. The novels written by Chen Qian no longer focus on the discreteness situation about the immigrant group, but more about the inward world of the characters in the novels and the eternal spiritual dilemma of human kind.As an objective fact, transnational writing is behind the character portraying,no longer carrying characters' main emotion expression as commonly seen in the discrete narration. The novels written by Yuan Jingmei focus on the culture and the influence from the culture towards the individual's existence.Though both focus on the difference between Chinese culture and western culture, the discrete narration usually centers on the Chinese characteristic, expressing the immigrants' nostalgia towards the homeland's culture and the repulsion towards the western culture. However,Yuan Jingmei's novels act in a diametrically opposite way, criticizing the Chinese national character, the traditional culture and social structure of Chinese society with the reference of western culture value concepts. It can be seen that the novels written respectively by Chen Qian and Yuan Jingmei are widely divergent on subjects, materials selection,image-shaping and narrative style, but both people's works represent the similarity and tendency of North America's immigrant novels, namely the dediscretization. This paper will take the novels written by Chen Qian and Yuan Jingmei as the research objects, clarifying the dediscretization characteristic in the North America's new Chinese immigrant novels through three chapters. The introduction part teases the discrete narration in the view of North America's Chinese literature research, and puts forward the dediscretization status in the text creation and theory research of the North America's new Chinese immigrant novels on this basis. In the meantime, this paper simply teases the novels and researches written by Chen Qian and Yuan Jingmei, and points out the clarification space existed in the paper. In the first chapter, starting with the creation psychology of Chen Qian and Yuan Jingmei,in combination with the personal experiences, knowledge structure, and social background, this chapter analyzes the creation psychology of Chen Qian and Yuan Jingmei towards dediscretization on the theoretic basis of literary creation psychology and literary sociology.Starting with the intensive reading of the text, through analyzing and summarizing on the three kinds of figures(immigrants, barbarians, adherents)in both people's works, the second chapter analyzes the obscurity of political, cultural and geographic space limitation in two people's transnational writings, the substitution of native and foreign lands, and the elimination of foreign land. This chapter also clarifies the discreteness deconstruction of the figures in the text when striking roots. In the third chapter, through discussing on the creation characteristic and mind-set of focusing on the out-migrating place(motherland)manifested from the creation of Chen Qian and Yuan Jingmei, this chapter analyzes the cultural revolution written by Chen Qian, which expresses the humanity from the unique individual perspective towards the motherland's history, and also analyzes the criticism made by Yuan Jingmei towards the national character,Chinese traditional social culture and social structure with the reference of western culture, which is the inner thought and creation resource of both people's dediscretization narration.
