Reception Theory As Applied To Rhapsody Of Goddess Luo

“Rhapsody of Goddess Luo” is one of the typical articles of CaoZhi,which deserves to be studied.This essay focuses on poems and articles in later ages,including interpretation historyand influence history of writings from the perspective of reception history.Through collecting and analyzing different kinds of poems and essaies,some conclusions have been found.First part is to discuss the interpretation history,centering on LiShan's annotation.LiShan created a love story between CaoZhi and Empress Zhen and said that was CaoZhi's purpose of writing “Phapsody of Goddess Luo”,which became a controversial topic in later ages.Wang Zhi and LuBingjun were in fovour of it,while LiuKezhuang,HuangFengxiang,HeZhuo opposed it.Objecters put forward two different ideas: metaphor of dispelling despression or showing regardness to his brother CaoPi,representing two different views of criticism.Although both sides tried to find evidence in history,they made opposite comments.Besides,they tried to trace the origin of this rhapsody according to its writing purpose.Second part is to disscus the inflution on poems and articles of “Rhapsody of Goddess Luo” in later ages,including rhapsodies imitating its style,Goddess Luo-themed poems and poems mentioned Goddess Luo.CaoZhi's work has attained a high position in the republic of letters.Its plot was so attractive that many writers attempted to add or omit something on the basis of it.However,disagreements of the writing purpose didn't reduce the popularity of CaoZhi's article.On the contrary,critics as well as poets will change Goddess Luo's characters in the light of their own experiences.So Goddess Luo's figure wasn't always the same,which contained various feelings of various poets.The third part is to stduying the use of saying in “Rhapsody of Goddess Luo”.That is: she is sliding over the water,with water mist splashing around.This saying also had different understandings.After exploration,my opinion is that she is sliding slightly on the turbulent river,giving rise to the splatter of water mists.Besides,this saying is very popular among poets in later ages.Both interpretation and rifacimento of “Rhapsody of Goddess Luo” incresed its value and accelerated its popularity.
