The purpose of this research is to carry out a study of the erroneous occasions in the usage of dynamic auxiliary words in Chinese language by Sri Lankan University Students.The experiences while studying in the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka made a greater influence in selecting this topic of study.A questionnaire was used as the research tool in order to collect primary data.Informants are thirty-five students from Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka and forty students from the University of Kelaniya.Thus,the secondary data was collected referring books,e-books and websites published by both in China and Sri Lanka.Sri Lankan students' knowledge about Chinese dynamic auxiliary words is very poor.Even though Sinhala language hasn't dynamic auxiliary words but have some sentence structures which share same meanings of Chinese dynamic auxiliary words,but the grammar usage in the two languages is different.The main reason for Sri Lankan students' common errors is the influence of their mother tongue and then they stuck in the word order.Further,Chinese dynamic auxiliary words have several usages,but students do not consider about the usage,and they just consider about the meaning.The lack of usage and lack of day today exercises also causes these errors.The knowledge of mother tongue is very helpful to understand a foreign language.Activities like making dialogues,reading books can improve the practical knowledge.Teachers should use effective teaching strategies to improve the students' ability.Appropriate teaching and teaching training can also help to dispel misunderstandings about the nature of error.
