According to the Modern Chinese Vocabulary(published by Commercial Press in 2008),56008 words are commonly used in modern Chinese today. It can be seen that the number of Chinese words we use is quite large.Chinese words are generally divided into real words and function words, and the number of function words is less than that of real words. There are many cases of using errors. The total number of prepositions in the function words is less than seventy or eighty, which is a small, closed word class, and most of them are monosyllable, such as"???????"and so on,but there are only ten disyllables, such as"????????"and so on.Although Chinese prepositions have no real meaning, they are frequently used as one of the main means of expressing grammatical meanings in Chinese. At the same time, the use of prepositions in English is active, and the preposition matching ability is particularly strong. It has some similarities and differences with Chinese prepositions. Therefore, foreign students whose native language is English can easily be biased in using prepositions when learning Chinese. The purpose of this article is to use the comparison of Chinese and English prepositions to elicit an analysis of foreign students'mistakes in learning Chinese prepositions and try to come up with appropriate teaching methods.Ultimately, prepositions also play an important role in modern Chinese. In the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,we should also pay attention to it.There are six chapters in this article. The first chapter is the introduction, including the purpose and significance of the research, the status, content and innovation. The second chapter focuses on the comparison of prepositions in Chinese and English, and expatiates on the difference between Chinese and English prepositions in four aspects, and makes an overall comparison of Chinese and English prepositions. These four aspects include the frequency of use of prepositions in Chinese and English, the different position of prepositions in the sentence, the degree of refinement of meaning, and the omission of Chinese prepositions. The third chapter to the fifth chapter choose three Chinese prepositions "?","?" and "?" with high frequency of use from the common Chinese prepositions as the research object, compares and analyzes in semantic, pragmatic and syntactic ways from three common prepositions, summarizes and analyzes the common mistakes of the Chinese prepositions "?,?,?" by foreign students who are native English speakers. In chapter six,the author combines with the above-mentioned error analysis of Chinese prepositions and related research results of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, this paper attempts to propose a teaching method of Chinese prepositions for foreign students who are native English speakers. This paper analyzes the grammatical functions of Chinese prepositions, explores the reasons and types of foreign students' acguisition errors, and discusses teaching methods of Chinese prepositions. It has certain reference value for the development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
