Intangible cultural heritage is a kind of cultural activity which has the characteristics of authenticity and variability.There are many forms such as verbal expressions,performances,skills,folk customs,traditional knowledge,practical perations and so on.Because of these features,intangible cultural heritage can be truly presented and preserved in some visualvisual and dynamic documentary films.Folk dance is one of the largest categories of intangible cultural heritage which has distinct cultural customs and local characteristics.It has unique cultural value as well.Folk dance has a strong audio-visual aesthetic and is fit for outdoor stage.There is no doubt that video documentary has more advantages than any other media.Because it can record the forms and living conditions of folk dance.It can record the life and psychology behind the characters.What's more,It can also record the national culture connotation.The article is divided into four parts.The first part introduces the definition of folk dance and the present situation and research value of folk dance documentaries.The second part and the third part mainly analyze of the creation strategies of such documentaries from the art of narration and audio visual.The fourth part emphasizes the functions of props in folkdanceculture.
