Application And Research Of Virtual Reality In Digital Protection Of Tangling

Tang Dynasty is at the peak of the feudal society in ancient China,and strong national strength has created splendid culture and art,especially,the tombs of Tang Dynasty,as an important part of the culture and art in the Tang Dynasty,enjoy a high prestige in the world.The tombs of Tang Dynasty push Tang Dynasty sculpture into its peak with concise and distinct form,powerful line,magnificent and mighty momentum.As time goes by,however,the influence of human and natural factors has caused great destruction to these heritage treasures of great artistic,historical,cultural and archaeological value.Concerning its unfavourable situation,it is imperative to find new and effective means of protection.With the continuous development and progress of digital technology in recent years,the rise of virtual reality technology makes the protection of cultural heritage enter a new stage.The application of this technology cannot only preserve the information of cultural heritage itself,but also spread and present its historical and cultural spirit and artistic value in a more image and visual form.Taking the digital protection of tombs of Tang Dynasty as an example,this paper first analyzes the condition of the mausoleums of the Tang Dynasty,the reasons for this phenomenon and problems under the traditional means of protection.Then,through the overview of the definition,characteristics and classification of virtual reality technology,and the application of virtual reality technology in the field of cultural relics protection at this stage,this paper explores the feasibility of digital protection of Tang tombs by using virtual reality technology.Finally,based on a number of field visits to Tang tombs and 3D scanning data collection of Tang tomb sculptures,the significance and advantages of combining virtual reality technology with digital protection research of Tang tombs are discussed with the examples applying virtual reality technology.Virtual reality technology cannot only effectively protect the sculpture of Tang tombs and Tang tombs,but also display multidimensional cultural relics without time and space constraints.The technical advantages of virtual reality including perfect immersion,interactivity and imagination make historical witnesses narrators of historical stories through the restriction of time and space and provide an effective way for visitors to participate in,thus enlarging the publicity and popularization of historical literature and art and providing strong support for improving national cultural confidence and artistic appreciation.
