Research learning is regarded as one of the highlights of China’s basic education reform and a major measure to achieve quality-oriented education.Most middle school students who have participated in research-based learning have benefited a lot.However,as a teacher-training university for basic education in China,the cultivation of normal students in research-based learning is comparatively lagging behind,which let to the disconnection between higher normal education and elementary education.Finally,secondary school teachers’ unqualified academic level will fall far short of the needs of students’ research learning,and the learning can only been carried out in a small area of secondary schools.According to the current situation of research-based learning diathesis,this study investigates the current situation of high school geography teachers and normal university geography students.The study shows that it is necessary for geography normal students in normal universities to participate in research-based learning,and puts forward strategies of “adding research-based learning courses”,“inviting experts inside and outside the university to carry out research-based learning lectures”and “forming scientific research and innovation organization for geography normal students based on research-based learning topics”for normal university students to participate in research-based learning.At the same time,the cultivation strategies of infiltrating research learning in normal colleges’ geographical curriculum and using geographical education practice to study the task of research-based learning have to be made based on specific research learning practice.The participation of Normal Geography University Students in research learning not only can improve their overall academic level,but also can help to meet the challenge of higher education reform to the quality of teacher training in normal universities.Last but not least,it is more conducive to provide innovative research-oriented innovative teachers for research learning in basic education.
