Under the guidance of Eugene A.Nida's functional equivalence,the author translated the thesis Minding the Mediation: Examining One Teacher Educator's Facilitation of Two Preservice Teachers' Learning,which was published from Urban Education by SAGE the press of America in 2016;then summarized and reflected the process of the translation text.The translator applied different skills such as the rearrangement of word order,addition and repetition,the recasting of information and split in translation to achieve functional equivalence.This report is divided into four parts: first,introduction the source of the original text and why it is chosen to be translated;second,a description of the translation process,including pre-translation,translation theory and revising after translating;third,a detailed case study to analyze the translated text under the guidance of Eugene A.Nida's functional equivalence;fourth,a conclusion of the report,including lessons learned and deficiencies in the translation practice.
