With the continuous advancement of basic education informatization,micro-course,as a new teaching resource,is getting more and more applications,and the application of information technology in English course teaching is also increasing.This study was conducted in Hohhot No.17 middle school,which is located in the urban-rural area of the southern suburbs of the city,adjacent to the chemical fertilizer plants,refineries and other industrial zone,and is a 9-year comprehensive school with the integration of primary and secondary education.Affected by many factors such as the geographical environment,educational condition,teacher level,and cultural atmosphere,some students who have strong learning ability have chosen other schools.The enrolled students,who have a relatively weak foundation and a weak self-learning awareness,have little interest in English,leading to poor performance.Micro-course based on the story teaching method in primary school English teaching combines stories with micro-course resources.The stories,which are vivid,entertaining and politic,are helpful to attract students ' attention,improve their interest in English learning,and promote their English language skills.Focusing on the actual demand for primary school English teaching of Hohhot No.17 Middle School,some micro-course resources based on story teaching method were designed and applied to English teaching in Grade 3 in order to increase the students' learning interest and improve their English language skills.This study also aims to explore the effective application strategies of micro-course resources based on story teaching method in primary school English teaching,hoping to provide a reference for primary school English teaching.In this study,the experimental method was adopted in combination with literature analysis and investigation.A test was conducted to select two classes with equivalent English proficiency as experimental class and control class.Unit 6 Happy Birthday unit of Grade 3 English book was selected to design and record micro-course teaching design based on story teaching method.The micro-course resources based on stories was used to carry out teaching in the experimental class,while the traditional teaching model was still used in the control class.During the experiment process,attention was paid to control the disturbance variables;after the experiment,another test related to Unit 6 was conducted to compare the results and to test research hypotheses.To enhance the objectivity,the content related to the learning of micro-course resources in the final examination papers was selected and the test data were collected for statistical inference and analysis to further test the research hypothesis.By sending questionnaires,written and oral English tests and other ways to collect data,and a multi-angle evaluation of the teaching effects of the micro-course resources based on story teaching methods,the research conclusions were drawn.The analysis of the research results show that the the appropriate application of micro-course resources based on story teaching method in primary school English teaching is helpful to increase students' interest in learning English,improve the efficiency and the quality of English teaching,thus develop the English learning ability of students.At the end of this paper,the whole process of this research is introspected,and the main shortcomings are analyzed to clarify the future direction of further efforts.
