In primary school English teaching,because of the tendency of knowledge-based,English classroom often lacks the proper life and interest,accordingly,it is difficult for students to use English knowledge flexibly.Children like to listen to stories,so the use of story teaching method can improve students' interest in learning and enhance classroom vitality.But in the classroom where the story teaching method is used,the author finds out the problems of formalization of teaching,neglecting to construct a situation suitable for children,which makes it difficult for students to integrate into the story situation.In order to improve these problems,the author explores the practical path of the story teaching method.The core purpose of this study is to find out some problems in the application of story teaching method in primary school English classroom through observation and interview,to analyze the causes of the problems and to explore the practical path of perfecting the story teaching method.First of all,through the observation of the classroom and the interview and analysis of teachers and students,this paper finds some common difficulties that will exist when the story teaching method is applied to the primary school English classroom,such as teachers ignoring the constructionsituation,ignoring the close to the children's life,and the lack of a complete and clear teaching model of the story teaching method.Based on the problems and reasons in the application of story teaching method in primary school English teaching,the author puts forward the practical path of constructing story teaching method suitable for children,which is divided into four steps: clear purpose,creating story,constructing situation and expanding activities.In the creation of the story proposed in the choice of children's cognitive story,in the construction of the situation Put forward the use of physical objects,multimedia,activities,timely evaluation to promote students into the situation.Finally,with the What colour is this balloon? "The first class as an example of the corresponding teaching design and practice.Through the observation and analysis of the practice,the author reflects on it and puts forward some suggestions and experiences to promote the better application of story teaching method in primary school English classroom.
