In the past few years,the educators have concentrated on the study motivation and emotional factors of learners,and found out that the teachers play a significant role in the students’ motivation.Feedback is important in teaching.Therefore,the great role of teachers’ feedback in the language study must not be overlooked.Teacher feedback is a vital way to improve students language learning.There are more and more researchers at home and aboard which focus on the relationship between classroom feedback and students’ learning motivation.In addition to classroom feedback,homework feedback is also indispensable for student language learning.Based on the noticing hypothesis and output hypothesis,this study aims to explore the influence of homework feedback from junior English teachers on students’ learning motivation.In this study,277 students and 3 English teachers of Xi’an Qujiang No.1 high school were selected as research participants.The author adopts questionnaires and interviews to investigate the influence of teachers’ homework feedback on students’ learning motivation.Meanwhile,the author provides some suggestions on how teachers offer feedback on homework.According to the investigation,the author concludes as follows:(1)There are three forms of homework feedback,which are correction between teacher and students face to face,correction between teachers and students together in the classroom,teacher corrections.(2)The content of teacher homework feedback affects the students’ English learning motivation.Positive homework feedback can improve students enthusiasm for English learning.(3)The frequency of teacher homework feedback affects theforward that:(1)the positive feedback should be applied reasonably and properly;(2)teacher’ are supposed to provide timely feedback on students homework.;(3)the mode of teachers’ feedback should be diversified;(4)teachers are supposed to provide feedback on English homework as elaborately as possible. |
