Self-efficacy is one of the most important aspects of emotional factors which play an important role in many affective factors that affect students' English learning ability.Positive self-efficacy in English will enhance students' self-confidence in English learning and improve their English performance,on the contrary,negative self-efficacy will reduce students' confidence and may have a bad influence on students' learning methods.This study analyzes the current situation and influencing factors of rural English learning self-efficacy and further analyzes the differences in gender differences and academic performance of self-efficacy.Finally,the author analyzes the correlation between English learning self-efficacy and English performance(listening,speaking,reading and writing),expecting to promote junior middle school students' English learning in rural areas.Questionnaires are distributed among 275 students of Wanhe Central Junior Middle School in Suizhou and 8 of the students are interviewed.After the revision and testing,the Questionnaire of Junior Middle School Students' English Learning Self-efficacy has a good validity and reliability.At the same time,the questionnaire is divided into five dimensions,namely general English learning self-efficacy,listening self-efficacy,speaking self-efficacy,reading self-efficacy and writing self-efficacy.The scores of the second grade students' mid-term English examination are taken as statistical data.The students' listening,reading,writing and total scores are counted.at the same time,oral test scores are obtained through the student's computer test.The collected data are analyzed through SPSS.There are four research questions:(1)What is the current situation of junior middle school students' English learning self-efficacy in rural areas?(2)Are there any significant differences in gender and academic achievement of rural junior middle school students in English learning self-efficacy?(3)What are the influential factors of rural junior middle school students' English learning self-efficacy?(4)Is there a significant correlation between English learning self-efficacy and rural junior middle school students' English achievement?Research shows:(1)Junior middle school students' self-efficacy in English learning is relatively low,and English achievement is at medium level.(2)There is no significant gender difference in junior middle school students' self-efficacy of English,while girls' self-efficacy is slightly higher than boys',and there is a significant difference in listening and writing self-efficacy between boys and girls.Generally speaking,there is a small difference in academic achievement,but there is a big difference in listening and writing parts.(3)The influential factors of junior middle school students' self-efficacy are mainly the former experience,psychological state,learning strategies,learning experience,teachers' teaching methods and the way of parents' education on stdudents.(4)Junior middle school students' English learning self-efficacy has a significant positive correlation with English achievement and it can positively predict the junior middle school students' English scores.Finally,in order to cultivate and improve the level of rural students' s English learning self-efficacy,the author puts forward some suggestions for teachers,students and parents and also finds out the limitations of the present research.
