The seminar course on ecological resource development for eastern Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN)growth area in 2017 was held in Nanning,Guangxi.Various training courses related to ecological resource were provided in the seminar.Most lecturers were experts,scholars and professors from governments and universities of Guangxi.Sixteen trainees come from the ASEAN countries such as Vietnam,Thailand,Laos and the Philippines.The majority of them are experts and governors of their countries.The author provided the Chinese to English(C-E)consecutive interpretation for Mr.Chen Xincun,a professor of Guangxi University.The topic of the lecture is the ecological tourism in Guangxi.This paper contains the following aspects of the interpreting practice for the lecture: the task introduction,the task process,case study and conclusion.The author introduces the task from task background and task content.The task process is divided into pre-interpreting preparation,on-site interpreting and post interpreting arrangement.Detailed cases are discussed including long and difficult sentences analysis,unexpected circumstances,disfluency in the practice and applications of interpreting strategies.Also,the author uses many translation techniques like sentence restructuring,addition,omission and numbers conversion to analyze the problems existing in the translation practice.The author searches these techniques and theories from scholars home and abroad.Lastly,the author summarizes and reflects on the problems faced when interpreting the lecture.
