In order to know the present situation of the use of TBLT in our English class,the study chose three middle schools in Luoyang as the objects of the research.The results of the research show that the English linguistic knowledge teaching in Luoyang Dong Sheng Second Middle School usually uses task-based language teaching.And the students' English scores and the satisfaction for the teaching ways are the highest among the three schools;and the Luoyang Experimental Middle School always uses the traditional way to teach linguistic knowledge and the students' English scores and the satisfaction for the teaching ways are the lowest in the three schools;the Affiliated Middle School of Luoyang Normal University always uses TBLT to teach vocabulary and the traditional way to teach grammar.And the students' scores and satisfaction are in the middle among the three schools.Thus,the rational use of TBLT can not only improve students' English scores,but also can intricate students' more interests.In order to get further understanding of the problems the teachers facing when they use TBLT,the study interviewed some English teachers in the three schools.The results of the interview show that the main problems they are facing are being short of class time,being hard to balance between linguistic ability and linguistic knowledge and being unaware of how to transfer between tasks.With respect to the problems found in the investigation,the study consulted some related books and modified Willis' s framework of TBLT appropriately so as to realize the combination of language knowledge and language ability in TBLT.Willis' s framework of TBLT includes three stages: Pre-task(introduction to the task and task),Task cycle(task,planning,report)and Task focus.The modified framework of TBLT is composed of three parts: Pre-task(task description & language point presentation),While-task(planning & reporting),Post-task(language analysis & language practice).Language analysis can improve students' activity and language practice can consolidate students' linguistic knowledge.In order to make a further demonstration of the modified framework of TBLT,the author chose Unit 5 from Go for it Book3 published by People's Education Press as a teaching example.
