Based on the analysis over the significance of oral class and the teaching status quo of teaching Chinese as a second language in China, the present paper reviews the necessity of a reform in teaching method. In light of literature reading, the paper discusses the origin, the developing history and the background of the Task-based Language Teaching, reviews and analyses its theoretical foundations, core concepts, principles, and factors affecting the difficulty levels of tasks.On the basis of teaching practice and other previous reseaches, this paper enriches and develops the principles concerning the design of task in the oral teaching of TCSL, to entrust students` impulse of learning and stimulate their creative enthusiasm.Following these principles , this paper puts forward twelve types of task designs adapt to the primary stage of oral teaching of TCSL through analysing ,combining and deleting the task designs of Prabhu, Willis and Brown, and then designs variously typical task samples of each type in detail combined with a series of existing teaching materials, attempting to integrate its features and principles into the primary stage of oral Chinese teaching, and to propose an appropriate teaching mode to improve students` speaking ability to maximum extent.Enclosed task design, this paper finally puts forward the main existing problems in the theory and the implement of TBLT from five aspects, such as tasks, learners, activity group, teaching materials and teachers. Meanwhile, several suggestions will be made to achieve better teaching effects.
