The Ethical Narrative Of Ye Xin's Educated Youth Novels

The educated youth novels showed the common collective life of a generation with a genuine literary expression.As a typical of the educated youth writers,Ye Xin expressed his strong sense of identity with the cultural standpoint of an elite intellectual in his educated youth novels.He constructed a unique literary discourse belonging to the educated youth generation after the Educated Youth Movement.Ye Xin's educated youth novels accompanied by the literary trend of thought in the 1980 s.Through the reproduction of the Educated Youth Movement,he created a large number of educated youth images and described their spiritual and living conditions.This paper takes the intellectual youth theme novels in Ye Xin's works as the research scope,and uses the ethical narrative as the entry point,trying to reach a deeper thinking of Ye Xin's educated youth novels by analyzing and summarizing his ethical narrative.This paper is divided into three parts: introduction,body and conclusion.In the introduction part,on the one hand,it historically reviews the Educated Youth Movement and the Educated Youth Literature,analyzes the unique meaning of Ye Xin in the educated youth writers,and defines the concept of the ethical narrative involved in this paper;on the other hand,it states the related research status of the academic circle and the significance of the topic.The text part elaborates the ethical narrative in Ye Xin's educated youth novels in three aspects: the love relationship between the educated youth,intellectuals' fate and social reality,and the individual and the educated youth's history.The conclusion part is the summary and prospect to the ethical narrative of Ye Xin's educated youth novels.The body of this paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter deals with the love ethical narrative of Ye Xin's novels,starting from the disordered emotional relationships in the educated youth,and combing the love patterns between the educated youth,the educated youth and the farmers in the monotonous rural life.Also,analyzing the behavior limitation function of the political statute of the period toward the educated youth's love and the critical consciousness that Ye Xin contains in these love ethical narrative.The second chapter describes the relationship between the tragic fate of young intellectuals and the social ethics.The images of young intellectuals,which exist in the educated youth literary works,their inner personality are greatly related with the political and social environment they are in.With complex mindset,Ye Xin created a variety of intellectual images.One is young intellectuals who pursued ideal moral values.They still maintain their noble personality under the harsh realities on the period of Down to the Countryside.Another type of intellectuals image blindly pursued the value of the times,actively eliminated their own cultural identity and integrated with political power.The third type are intellectuals who pursued unusual moral values.They ignored the moral personality of traditional intellectuals in their life.The third chapter starts from the value standpoint of Ye Xin's novels' historical writing,analyzes his historical construction to the educated youth individuals and the Educated Youth Movement.And analyzes his settlement of the tribulations suffered by the intellectuals in this history.Ye Xin deconstructed the illusory lofty sense of politics,and made the history of the educated youth a scar to reflect on the history.
