Literature of educated youth is an important part of the contemporary literature.Theworks are written by educated youth writers about their varied different life experiences,reflecting their real lives.These literary works contain the complex recognition process ofthe educated youth group about history and themselves.The artistic personality shown intheir works embodies their unique life and marks of the times. History has bred thisspecial group of educated youth writers, thus revealing the multiple connonation andinner complication of the contemporary literature.This paper deals with love narration in educated youth literature, mainly love novels.The paper is focused on the historical background for creation, different forms of lovenarration in different phases, its unique artistic forms of love narration different fromother themes as well as the value and significance that educated youth literature attachesto the contemporary literature. The purpose in so doing is to summarize the educatedyouth writers’ ways of expressing love to dig out the humanity glory latent in lovenarration by the educated youth writers.This paper falls into four parts:Part One: The craze for going and working in the countryside or mountain areasand educated youth literature. This part is an analysis of three categories concerning thehistorical backgroud for the educated youth movement, the gradual psychologicalchanges of the educated youth, and the relationship between educated youth literatureand post educated youth literature.Part Two: Three forms of love narration in educated youth literature.Based on thethree periods that educated youth literature has gone through in the development process,this part extracts different characteristics that educated youth writers have for lovenarration in different periods. Specifically, the crave for love and helplessness in the Scar Period; Rememberance of pure love and pains in the Regression Period; Thoughts onloss and distortion of love in the Reflection Period.Part Three: Artistic expression in love narration of educated youth literature. Thispart makes an analysis of artistic forms of love narration in educated youth literaturethrough three aspects——the narrative perspective and characters, the creation ofimaginary world,and the death awareness in depicting love.Part Four: The value and significance of love narration of educated youth literaturein the contemporary literature. This part mostly puts love narration of educated youthliterature in the development process of narrative logic of the modern literature. It aims todemostrate the value and significance of mournful song mode of intertwined love andambitions, by a comparision with the battle song mode of love narration in the SeventeenYears literature and the Cultural Revolution literature, and with the desire song mode oflove narration in the commercial surroundings of the90s.
